In this recording you can here a very clever parakeet talking up a storm. In a calm and content mood you can hear this little fellow say phrases such as "pretty bird", "my number is 92576..", "Good Morning", "I love you", "Have a nice day" and much more.
One of the most important things to remember if you want a talking parakeet in your home is to make sure you get a male bird. It is possible to teach a female bird to talk however they generally remember only a few phrases as opposed potentially many hundreds for male birds.
Spending personal time with your bird daily is the second most important point. In the past we were taught to simply repeat phrases at your bird over and over however these days it is generally accepted that birds learn better when owners express genuine interest and care in their parakeets. So try to interact with your bird as much as possible.
